Another day, another lesson

Today I read the heart breaking news of the suicide of a 16 year old boy. He was a standout athlete, good looking, intelligent, highly recruited by many universities, and from all accounts well liked, well adjusted and a good peer role model. Tragically, underneath all this lurked suffering and depression hidden but enough to lead to suicide. I feel for his community and family. This sad story repeats itself and strikes all kinds of families. Wealth does not insulate from depression, neither does good looks, intelligence, talent, religion, education, health, gender, or political affiliation? This is an equal opportunity tragedy. If you or anyone you know is depressed, please ask for help. Also encourage each other to ask for and accept help. It is not a sign of weakness.
